Has anyone else noticed the large number of disabled spaces that have been created in the Coop car park? I think that there are now seven. Given the small size of the car park, and the fact that some spots are reserved for local residents, it doesn’t really leave a lot of spaces for other drivers.
I have also noticed that people are simply ignoring the disabled signs anyway and just parking in them… and unfortunately it is difficult to blame them. The additional effect of installing these extra wide spaces has been to reduce the overall number of spaces available for parking. Anyone who has tried to park there in the evening will know how full it can get.
Does anyone have a sense that there was ever a problem with the disabled parking available before?

I have already contacted the coop and asked them to put the carpark back to how it was before. Please can you raise the issue with the Paris Council and ask them to conact the coop. Disabled spaces icreased from 2 to 4. With 3 parent & child spaces introduced. The number of drivers parking in unmarked spaces in the middle of the carpark or blocking the entrance to the car park has inceased. I do agree with you there was never a problem with just 2 disabled spaces.
I didn’t realise that 3 of them are parent/child places; that makes a little more sense. As you say though, there didn’t appear to be a problem before.
The other councillors are aware of the issue.
Have you also noticed that the people living above the Coop use the area of the carpark by the clothes recycling bank as their own personal rubbish dump?
