Dog Poo

A considerable amount of tonight’s Highways meeting was devoted to the increasing amounts of dog mess left around the village. We currently pay around £1500 per year to have the dog bins emptied and this is going to double in cost next year. So please do encourage anyone you see leaving little presents around the village to pick them up and make use of the rather expensive bins provided.

For anyone who doesn’t bother to pick up their dog’s droppings, can I remind you of the disease risk to children. Around 100 children per year go blind or partially blind from Toxocariasis, passed on through contact with dog mess that people have left lying around.

There is legislation to cover such offences so why doesn’t the PC take the lead and prosecute a sample offender. That alone will make people sit up and think

Also requests to establish dog free zones have failed to get past the PC, so if the PC perceives that a problem exists has not the time come for action rather than talk?

Why don’t they walk them on Ashton Vale? … Everybody who lives there has been doing it for decades apparently.

Jabberwocky – dont encourage fouling on the village green. I am hoping to go ice skating there at some point this year.

Steve. I was at the public inquiry.

The only hilarity from seeing the Landowner’s witnesses switch sides and give evidence to support the Applicants.

Everyone who was at the public inquiry knew that the TVGers had won fair and square. The result was no surprise to anyone who was there and I include the Landowner’s team in that.
