The Parish Council has started work on our Neighbourhood Plan and we are looking for volunteers to get involved. The Neighbourhood Plan is a new type of document brought in as part of the Government’s Localism agenda.
Long Ashton has been selected as one of the forerunners to test out these new plans, and we have even received a grant of £20,000 to assist with legal fees, a referendum, inspectors and so on.
Long Ashton’s Neighbourhood Plan will look at all aspects of village life and how we, as a village, would like to develop over the next fifteen years or so.
Although there won’t be any new money available for implementing schemes and ideas, the plan will set out future policy for the Parish Council and show North Somerset and Bristol Councils what development we would like (and not like).
If you would like to get involved and help us shape the future of Long Ashton, please get in touch.
